Whimsical cobweb pancakes that combine playful presentation with delightful taste, perfect for special occasions or family breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 200g plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 200ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
  • Vegetable oil, to grease the pan
  • 30g white chocolate, chopped
  • 20 blackberries
  • Maple syrup for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blackberries by melting white chocolate and piping ‘eyes’ onto them. Chill until set.
  2. Make the pancake batter by sifting flour, cinnamon, sugar, and salt, and mixing with wet ingredients.
  3. Prepare for cooking by placing batter in a piping bag, ensuring it’s sealed at the end.
  4. Cook pancakes by drizzling batter into a greased pan, forming a cobweb shape. Cook until golden.
  5. Serve pancakes with chocolate-coated blackberries and maple syrup.

Notes

Keep batter thick for better design. Maintain medium heat to avoid burning.
